Awuzie planning to decide this weekend

It appeared San Jose (Calif.) Oak Grove defensive back Chidobe Awuzie was closing in on a decision but the corner will take one more trip this weekend before making a final call.

Chidobe Awuzie has taken official trips to Colorado, San Jose State and Washington State and has had all three programs in the home for visits as well. The original plan to was make a decision sometime this week but you can now probably expect a weekend announcement.

"I'm going to take an unofficial visit to San Jose State on Saturday," Awuzie said. "That's the local school and I'm really close with the coaching staff there. I feel a strong connection there and they're really recruiting me hard, making me a priority.

"I have the same feel for the Colorado staff too since they were recruiting me when they were at San Jose State. I love that campus and I like the Pac 12. Washington State has been recruiting me hard for a long time and they were my first offer. I have three great options and that's why this has been such a tough decision for me."

Awuzie did say he's leaning to one of the three programs.

"I'm leaning to Colorado," Awuzie said. "I'm already real comfortable with Coach Mac (Mike MacIntyre) and I know what a great coach he is. I've seen it firsthand when he was at San Jose State.

"I'm still going to take my visit to San Jose State this weekend with an open mind and we'll see where things go from there. I plan to make my decision either Saturday night or sometime on Sunday but I do think it will be this weekend."
