Grant Bays just picked up a Utah offer and comes from a program that produced two current Utah starters in QB Jordan Wynn and offensive lineman Sam Brenner...
Grant Bays
comes from one of the premier high school programs in California in Oceanside and recently picked up his fourth offer, this one from
Utah
.
"I was excited about the offer. I really like the coaches. The offensive line coach came out to see us. Seemed like a down to earth guy. We have a couple of guys from my high school that play at Utah."
Those two guys are offensive lineman
Sam Brenner
and quarterback
Jordan Wynn
.
"It would be a lot better to come to a school with some Oceanside guys. Sam Brenner has been working with us a lot and is a nice guy and a pretty good lineman."
Along with the Utah offer, Bays reports offers from two other Pac 12 schools and a Mountain West program, while receiving interest from a few others.
"I also have offers from
Boise State
,
Arizona
, and
Oregon State
. I'm also hearing from
Nevada
,
UCLA
, and
Oregon
."
While most schools are recruiting Bays at center, he is getting some interest at guard as well and believes he has the athleticism to play either position.
"I've got really good feet and good quickness."
Coming from a wining tradition in high school, Bays wants to continue that in college and is putting a premium on doing so.
"I want a school that I know will be winning games, I can have fun at, get a good education, and is a fun place to be."
With a busy summer ahead, the lineman will start narrowing down his list before making a decision sometime during his senior year.
"I'm going to UCLA this weekend and I might go see Oregon State and Boise at some point. I'm going to be waiting a little bit longer to make a decision. It's not going to be anytime soon, but I'm not going to wait until the end of the season either."
