Utah-SDSU: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly...

Who was good, who was bad, and who was ugly in the Utes's win over the Aztecs...
The Good
Jordan Wynn
Redemption. After two tough weeks, led his team back from two big deficits throwing for a career high 362 yards. He didn’t look like the same timid, sulking player we saw against
TCU
and
Notre Dame
.
The Offensive Play Calling
The offense was diverse and unpredictable. The big plays came back, Aaron Roderick let his players make plays, and it made all the difference.
Forcing Turnovers
The
Utah
defense forced three turnovers, including two in the final few minutes to ice the game. The
Brandon Burton
interception before the half ended up being worth 10 to 14 points.
The Character of the Team
This goes for both the coaches and the players. After two of the worst weeks in Utah football history, this team bounced back, despite being down by three scores multiple times in the game. They didn’t stop fighting and showed a lot of character.
The Bad
Third Down Defense
SDSU converted 8 of 12 third won opportunities with a couple of those leading to touchdowns. The third down defense was much better earlier in the year and will need to be better against
BYU
to keep a young, improving offense off of the field.
The Injuries
They’re finally starting to mount up as
Sealver Siliga
missed the game and
J.J. Williams
is out again. No Junior Tui’one or Brad Clifford again.
Trevor Reilly
is likely out against BYU. The Utes avoided the injury bug for the most part earlier in the year, but are now on par with most teams out there.
The Ugly
The Pass Defense
528 yards by Lindley? Really? This should be one of the best secondaries in the country, yet Lindley, Brown, and Sampson kept moving the chains at will through the air.
